The condition when a women’s spouse has been passed away is known as widow. Widowhood is one of the arduous aspects in women’s life. Since, her world comes to an end. There are different patterns and behaviors followed for women in different countries. But all the patterns and behavior followed for widow in any country is not so good. As per the Indian context widowhood is considered as a curse in India. Where widow women’s were not treated well.

If we look back into the history we may found that there are certain practices like widow burning and sati practice shows the reality of women’s.  Where women’s needed to be burn alive along with their husband at his death.  Even today, if a women’s husband passed away then also she need to suffer a lot. If she is old then the condition is bit fine for her it is also when her kids were taking her responsibility. Otherwise, in some cases the condition is even bad.  In these cases either elderly women’s were send to old age home or most of the times when the widow is younger then she used to send to widow home.  Where she need to spend her entire life in without rest of world. She was forced to wear white cloths, she was not allowed to met with any male or anyone except the widows,  she was not allowed to attend any functions neither she was allowed to do makeup or wear colorful clothes. Her world was just surrounded by white cloths in lesser resources with no comforts.

A question for you?

We just wanted to ask you that are it right for the society to give inhumane treatment anyone. Just try to keep yourself in a state when you were given this kind of treatment, what will happen to you, how you were going feel?

Today we need to help these kinds of women. We need to support them. We need to help them.

Widow arrangement is one of the social causes. We want to raise the standard of widow living. Muskan wants to support to live their life with dignity, we want them to work and earn for themselves, and we wants them to live a normal life. 

This is one of the toughest tasks we were doing because the problem is not in the situation but it is present in our mindset, it is present in our society, it is present in our belief and value system.
